Presentations and Demonstrations

Presentations are made on a wide variety of artistic topics, techniques, mediums, and styles. Some presentations are lecture style, some have an artist demonstrating their process for you to observe, while others discuss more of the techniques used and allow you to ask questions.

Some examples of past presentations that we have hosted are:

  • stained glass

  • pottery

  • palette knife painting

  • watercolor painting

  • wood turning

Business and Professional Topics

No matter one's style of art, we all have to attend to certain business, marketing, and social media issues if we want to be successful in selling or sharing our art.

Some topics that may be discussed are:

  • advertising and marketing

  • where and how to sell art

  • social media, websites, and online sales

  • sales tax and income tax considerations

  • assumed name certificates

  • how to photograph your art for displaying online and making prints

  • how to frame your art for galleries

Classes and Workshops

Classes and workshops are a great way for artists to get hands-on experience with a new art technique or medium.

Some examples of past classes and workshops that we have held are:

  • watercolor

  • acrylic painting

  • painting on glass

  • zentangle

  • water marbling

Juried Art Shows and Events

The Greenville Art League hosts juried art shows and pop-up art events throughout the year. These events may take place at a local business or city space such as the library. The city of Greenville supports the Greenville Art League by offering members a discounted booth fee to their annual Hunt County Festival of the Arts.

Studio Days

Studio Days allow members to bring their current art project and supplies to work on in a shared studio space. This allows collaboration, networking, encouragement, and input from other artists.

Art Gallery Displays

Art League members have the opportunity to display their work at a variety of businesses and public spaces throughout Greenville. In the past, these locations have included the library, banks, attorney's offices, the county tax office, local restaurants, and coffee shops.

Let's Share Our Art

Below are examples of art created by some of our league members. At our meetings, you have the opportunity to network with these artists, ask questions, and learn new techniques.
