I am a watercolor artist based in Caddo Mills, Texas. Influenced by early experiences along the Florida coast, my work frequently reflects themes of water, open space, and quiet landscapes, alongside imagery inspired by the Texas countryside. I studied art education at Florida State University and have taught high school art for 30 years while maintaining an active studio practice. Working primarily on paper, I am drawn to watercolor for its fluidity and organic blending, using the medium to capture subtle light, depth, and a sense of calm. I value the balance between control and unpredictability that watercolor requires, allowing each piece to evolve naturally through layered washes and transparent color. My paintings explore both the vastness of the ocean and the open farmland of North Texas, as well as florals and wildlife observed in everyday surroundings. Through thoughtful composition and color, I aim to preserve the undisturbed character of the natural world and create a visual pause—inviting viewers to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with places that feel timeless and quietly familiar.
